decisions, decisions what mobile to get
im looking at upgrading to a smart phone next month, iphones are out of the question, i'll never get one of those, heard too much bad things about them, im looking at either a Nexus S or a HTC Legend, anyone have any ideas on which one would be the better choice?

Hi there, how are you going? I work for Telstra Business Services. Alot of people like the iphone 4 but some dont. Each to their own I say. However the HTC is brilliant. I have a HTC Wildfire and I have never ever had a problem. I have never heard a bad thing about it either..I swear by the HTC...cheers marie

I've just got the HTC Incredible S from Optus. I have never had more than a basic phone before, and I am having so much fun with this. Find something new each day to play with, and it even makes phone calls!!!  The 8mgp camera is better than my own camera. I know of a couple of people who have switched from the iphone to HTC phones and say they are much easier to use.
Cheers,
Jackie

thanks for the input, my wife today just got a nokia c7, and it uses ovi on the computer to transfer files to the phone from the computer, its soooo much more user friendly and easier to use than itunes,

ahhh if you really want a phone that will blow your socks off then get your hands on the new samsung galaxy S 2 ...dual core processor and the latest android firmware.
I have friends who have them and they say they havent seen anything to beat them out there yet.

As for iphone .... cant say I know too much about them except for finding My nephews useless at syncing contacts to itunes and having no way to export anything without itunes and a computer... also 2 friends who have had them replaced more then twice .... which I think speaks for itself.... but Im sure there are people who love theirs lol

anything android is very user friendly .... because its like a computer operating system on its own ... most come with their own software or you can plug them into your computer as an external hard drive ... no messing around with itunes or ovi.... just drag and drop files to your internal or external memory.

Android now has over 87% of the market in the US alone ...swiftly followed by europe ... and judging from sales in australia ... it wont be long before they hold the majority here too.

just My 2 cents

I have to agree about the Samsung Galaxy, most excellent phones! I have a Galaxy 1, and love it. While there aren't as many apps as the iPhone offers, there are plenty to get by on. Also, the Samsung doesn't have the compatibility problems the iPhone does - I've never been able to easily transfer music or files between iPhone -> PC or anything else, and  ->  PC -> iPhone. Just tooooo hard.

The Samsung's cheaper, too

The Nexus is the upgraded Galaxy - my son got one last week, was going to get the Galaxy but they told him that was being fazed out and the Nexus was the replacement.  Not sure what he thinks of it yet.

Hubby has a HTC Aria and eldest son has the Legend I think - son loves his as it has a metal case, where the others don't, but hubby hates his because it doesn't do what he wants it to do and does funny things - it's the operator not the phone pmsl.  He has only ever had basic phones like Motorola V series things, so this was a big step up for him - but he won't give it up lol.  Not for someone who works outside - you can't answer it if you have wet or damp hands (he quite often does) and he was complaining that he would be talking to someone and the phone would hang up on them and ring someone else...yeah, worked out it was because he was pressing it to the side of his head and cheek too hard.  But I think it's a great phone .

not sure who told your son that the nexus is superceding the galaxy but nexus was THE original google android phone ...so ya cant really supercede with an older model lol
That being said, the nexus has had a few revisions ...just like the new galaxy S 2 is the new revision of the original galaxy .... samsung make both the nexus and the galaxy S/ S 2 ... but I hardly think samsung will phase out the galaxy S2 when its only just been released.

in the realm of android phones, samsung have said they are looking to release a new phone EVERY YEAR to stay ahead of the competition .... we already have dual core processor phones but by the end of next year/early 2013 we will be seeing the new quad core phones ... the market is going to get very interesting over the next few years.

What I love about the galaxy S is that I can do pretty much anything to My phone ... from installing a new Rom (android operating version customised to suit your own needs) to finding funky programs on the net that dont appear on the market (try doing that on an iphone lol)

I havent quite figured out how to get it to make Me tea and toast in the morning though .... but theres time yet
