Could mods please specify the rule we're breaching when posts are withdrawn. Please.
In the past, I've been advised that a post of mine has been withdrawn because I breached rule so and so.

Just now, an entirely useful and informative thread has been wiped out, my own contributions included. The OP had replied to one of my posts and found it helpful. I too found some very helpful information in there. I could add that, apart from the usual moaners and groaners ( a few, only) it was highly supportive of quicksales.

I was informed that my posts were "considered inappropriate or irrelevant to the topic."

I should like to make my own interpretation of that. Which exactly was the rule I was in breach of?

S (and, like the OP of that thread, a bit annoyed)

The thread was headed “Sale Statistics” and the OP made it clear in the text that it referred to “running a sale” (i.e discounting items) and whether or not it was worth it.

Quite a few members chose to refer to quicksales’ advertising.

It seems to me that quicksales’ advertising is DIRECTLY relevant to what sales (in general) you can expect here, and hence whether you need to have a “sale” (i.e. discount items) in the first place.

Sounds like the good old 13L, but that usually accompanies the removal message. Marian

edit ; this 1 will probabl go as 13F ; re-posting deleted posts or discussing deleted posts;

The reason no Rule number was quoted is because the OP ( person who started the post) removed the posts , but the message is signed off as a ' moderator'

If it was a Mod then usually you do get a rule 12345678abcdefg ......................

Well, my quicksales messages told me my posts had been removed “by the author”. This is plainly untrue because I was the author.

The message is signed “quicksales Moderator” so maybe the Moderator was just politely reminding me that someone wrongly identified as the author had removed the message.

Anyway, it was a very good and useful thread. It’s possible that posts had been deleted that induced the OP to discontinue the thread. I’m disappointed. I didn’t find the thread particularly critical of quicksales, rather the contrary. But I may have missed some late posts.

 Your message, as was mine and several others, was removed by the "author" of the thread, not of the post.  The message you received is automated and generated because the OP chose to self moderate the thread..  The post was not necessarily in breach of any rule, the OP is simply chucking a hiissy fit because some other posts were removed by the regular moderators, apparently for being off topic according to the OP's subsequent posts.

 May I suggest you read the rule again Kevin? Rule 1 says "do not post about specific auctions... Do not refer to or post links to other sites that have items for sale."

That seems pretty straightforward to me.  I remember seeing that thread and wasn't at all surprised when it was removed, after all, that's exactly what you did.
