closing down sales of games
Hi all

Well after much deliberation I have decided to stop selling on quicksales

Thanks to everyone who has helped Me try to make a go of it here

I just feel that there isnt much call for games here ... and see no point in ordering More just to have them sit here doing nothing..... its been a great learning curve though.

Ive tried My best to bring genuine games here at a low price.

I know most want paypal but that will just increase the price of the games then make it less competative.

Maybe I picked the wrong time to start selling

Anyway...once again thanks to all and I hope your sales move quick and fast.

Take care all

Rob

G'day Rob...

It's a shame that you have decided to close down mate....considering that you have only been here for a month....... and that's not even a piddle in the life of Quicksales selling.
Would it hurt to stay and leave the three items you have listed sit for a while longer while you go off to somewheres else and try?
You have taken the time to join......seems a shame to give up after such a short time of trying.....and don't worry about not having Paypal....it's not a must with everyone whether selling or buying....it is only with this new competition that is happening at the moment that Paypal is essential.
In saying that....... what harm would it do to accept Paypal as a payment option...may mean the difference in a sale....especially with the prices of your games...buyers may feel more secure with paying with Paypal.
Think of it this way mate.....if you sell somewhere else such as feebay....you will have hefty fees to fork out and still have to increase your item prices.........where as here on Quicksales it's a walk in the park with fees ...you only pay when you sell the item.....
OK...I'll get off me soap box now....hope you have a rethink and stay a while longer.
Cheers...Lily

"Ive tried My best to bring genuine games here at a low price."

Rob , the people that would buy those games also know their stuff and are more then likely seasoned game buyers who not only know their prices but would want PayPal/Paymate for numerous reasons.

You can't say you've done your best when your product is dearer then most places , you don't offer a safety net payment service and you have no feedback.

Buyers are wary these days , and to offer just 3 items which sell for far less new elsewhere wasn't going to work from the beginning if you'd done your homework.

Don't give up , re-evaluate what you can do .

I have basically the same to say - you have been here a month, you have 3 games listed and I've never seen any advertising for your listings, also unless it was someone who knew their stuff - I wouldn't think those titles would sell.

Why close down ? - You only just got here ........

You have nothing to lose by staying where you are, it is not costing you anything to list here and at the very most a couple of cents every pancake day once your free listing period is over.

As far as not accepting Pay Pal, sometimes you have to spend money to make money and any services you provide to make a sale should already been included in your sale price and not tagged on afterwards, so you need to review your costing or work with a smaller profit margin, whatever, but sabotaging your own sales by not providing Pay Pal for such large ticket items is not helping either.

As luck may have it a lot of Quicksale members have a $ 100.00 Pay Pal voucher in their pocket and are looking for ways to spend it and if they want to buy one of your games, you miss out because you don't take Pay Pal .......

I agree with all above..I believe that people on here are savvy buyers

They want bargains, LOT's of variety....3 games?  sorry but you need to have 30...and better still 300 games so your buyers can buy a few !

Imagine walking into a shop...a real live shop...and you saw a table with 3 games on it....what would you do? I would walk right out and go looking for my nearest EB game shop!

But picture the same shop....300 games...a few specials, some accessories...good atmostphere...customers will buy ...simple!

Hmmm yeah speaking of withdrawing games & the EB store, we did the same OP with the 4 last games we had up, withdrew them & took them into EB to swap for something the kids may like last wk. T'was an eye opener! The 4 games we had listed were mint cond all round, even the games books & whilst we paid good money for them - EB games only gave us $10 for the lot all together. The games we had listed were on site for a yr & whilst some games went within a few hrs or wks - others you just can't seem to give away @ $9-10 with large letter post. OP good luck for the future anyway but if your considering doing a trade with EB games, the ones you have listed you'd probably be pushing to get $15-20 each tops, sux when we know how much we all paid for our new games huh. :)

Edit - that $10 trade in on our 4 mint condition games didn't even cover the petrol cost for us going to EB either.

thanks for all the feed back

as for these games being available for $15 dollars I would love to know where you can get them for at that price brand new and sealed

these games are new releases not old or second hand ... feel free to check them out on big W and eb games/game websites for the prices - crysis 2 limited edition sells for $88 to $108. and I know I have seen one copy on here for $109.

Im new to selling so I can understand that maybe Im not giving quicksales enough time - however as time goes by games do come down in price... killing any type of profit . because after all we are here to sell and make a profit .

Stocking 300 games ? .... Im new to selling - this is a test of sorts ...Im not a big company who can afford to have thousands of dollars of stock - My aim was to start little and slowly increase game titles I would stock.

paypal would push the prices of games up ...making them less competative - but yes your probably right in that it would be best to offer it - not just for buyers security but also for ease of use - been a bit naive on that one.

All this being said, you have all given Me something to think about

Thanks all

Hey Rob,

Maybe put more "keywords" in your titles, the stuff people would use searching for these type of Games.

That way you will get key position on Google and may bring buyers to your listings.

If your prices are really competative for these type of Games, maybe put the price in the listing title - the more key elements in the title the better.

There's nothing wrong with having only three of four of these Games listed, because if that's the specific Game someone is looking for they don't need to see 300 other ones.

The drawback on this site is the limited buyer base (500.000 to millions somewhere else), but that's why you don't pay mega money for listing, photos etc, so it's six of one and half a dozen of the other -

My advice to you is to get your Games titles high up in the Google search engines and accept Pay Pal on your listings and maybe you'd be flying soon -

No need to spend thousands of dollars, however you need more listings. It's unrealistic to think that 3 listings will be visible amongst almost a half million.

Robs listings are 3 out of 195 in that category, which is much better odds than most categories on Quicksales
