Can't upgrade to a premium vshop?
It said the premium vshop will be retiring from 2 December. Does it mean there is no premium vshop from then? So a basic vshop no more be allowed to upgrade to a premium vshop? If i want to show my vshop logo on the front page randomly, i have to set up vshop sales?

Kind regards,
Vicky

The way I read it, if you had a premium shop before the 2nd December you can still have one, but no new premium shops are being created after Dec 2nd.

Standard shops can still have sales, you don't need premium for that, and there is always the Platinum option at $165 per mth.

It's so sad. How can i afford it? I may close my vshop soon. I've seen many vshops they dont have many sales actually.
Thanks.

hi,
$165 bucks for a vshop you have to be joking. can you think of any seller on here that makes $165 a month, I can't and in the economic crisis we are in. most sellers on here are not selling at all. absolutely laughable

of course we could always price our items $165 each to pay for the vshop

There are already quite a few of them, so obviously some people feel it's a worthwhile investment.  The package you get is pretty good value actually, lots of pronotional features and extra functionality.  I'm going to experiment with it for a few months, see how it goes.  This is just a hobby for me, so I'm not dependent on sales and the way I see it, if I played golf or went scuba diving or collected knick knacks for a hobby, it would cost me money every month, so I've nothing to lose.

Yes, you're right Penny!!! I'm angry as well, i just set up my vshop and considering i can upgrade it for a premuim one, otherwise, why i set up a basic one? hide there and wait someone to come? That's imposible. and  it's even imposible to pay $165/month.

Members that were considering a premium shop have been dudded, platinum shops are not a newly introduced alternative, they would have already been considered and rejected by members who realistically knew the costs were too great.

Something has been taken away, not introduced. When something is taken away something improved often replaces it, is that happening here ?

I don't have a shop. I did consider it when Premium shops with front page random ads were introduced, but my turnover sales just couldn't support & justify shop cost +  premium monthly fees. I price my items with low margins, so a sale isn't an option for me, much less paying for the priviledge of having one!

The Platinum shops are supposedly out to attract large businesses to this site? Remember the Admin ad for marketing consultants some months back?

I'd like to see Quicksales really take off. I keep waiting for this to happen. My comfort zone is around 300 listings, but mine are now around 500. I welcome & dread the day when buyers buy & pay & I can provide great service to a multitude!

Many recent new buyers for me have been non payers, with the odd sweet new to online customer that makes it all worthwhile!

hi,
If mine doesn't improve in the next month or so, I will be leaving

Very interesting from someone who has had only one sale in a fortnight, it is an interesting sales strategy spending $165.00 a month for a platinum vshop with so few sales, more of a gamble I suppose. It is one thing to claim disinterest in profits and contentment in breaking even, and quite another to throw money down the drain.

Personally I don't believe you are serious, merely another snow job to confuse the gullible, but I breathlessly await the launch of your new strategy / campaign

Not that it bothers me what you believe spade, nor that is any of your business really, but take a look, I have already "launched my strategy" as you put it.  What I spend on my hobby is my business, some people spend more on cigarettes, alcohol or gambling for less return.

Please direct me to your new 'platinum' shop, I will follow your progress with great anticipation with the fervent wish for its runaway success

How do I find platinum vshops? Do they have a separate link? How are they identified? I might check them out to see what volume of sales has convinced the owners to have one, it obviously must work for some

I'm sure you know by now how to find a person's shop sppade, and I am not about to "advertise" by providing a link.

I don't know if there is a special location for the platinum shops, I imagine there would be, but I know only as much as anyone who has read the spiel about them in the vShop area.  I imagine I will learn all the tips and tricks as I go.

EDIT> Oh and thank your for the fervent wishes.

maybe a platinum shop is just a tax write off for some?

I can find vshops but I don't know how to recognise those that are 'platinum'

They have a cleaner, sleeker and more professional look and are centred on the page, they look quite different to the normal shops, more like an external website.

So if I go to your vshop it will be a typical platinum vshop centred and sleek and more professional and so on ?

It will obviously look like it has been set up by someone who has given up cigarettes, booze and gambling I guess. That surely can't be a bad thing

Never smoked, not a regular drinker, but will confess to enjoying a dabble on the pokies from time to time, .

Wow.....what a hot debate here!!! Anyway, do our best jobs here guys. I'll try a basic vshop and save a $5 coffee per month, see what happens.

$165 is pretty expensive for those who do not sell well at all though.
And it is $165 + Seller Fees & vShop Fees.

If it was $165 for the Year with Seller Fees and vShop Fees included in the price I may change my mind and give it a whirl.
