Bridal bouguet alternative
My Daughter is getting married in September this year at the Stockmans Hall of Fame at Longreach . She doesn't want the usual bridal bouquet. Her wedding dress is ivory with shoestring straps if this helps and she is thinking of just wearing a tiara. We have thought of a parasol. She is not a frills & fluffy type.
Any suggestions

Congratulations. My daughter was much the same, and she couldnt have real flowers due to an allergy, so we made a bouquet with artificial ones. I will see if I can remember how to add a pic lol.
There is lots of alternatives to flowers tho. Do a google search. My daughter will have lots of ideas. She is a fab wedding planner lol

I did a ladies wedding a few years back and I made her and the bridesmaids gold and white dream catchers with gold thread and swarovski crystals and pure white fluffy feathers. They looked awesome. The bride's one was bigger and the others were a bit smaller but still of substanial sizes. the guys all had a small white rose with green leaves and a few fluffy feathers behind it tied with a gold bow for lapel pins.
If you need any help just send me a msg and I will do what I can.

cheers Chrissy

Beautiful Bouquet  stumpy007 , but I think that doesn't want any flowers at all, but yours is different to the usual types. I will show her your pic. & I will see what she says about the dreamcatchers  chrissy4107 and I will also mention the wheat too   beadsandbling but they aren't into wheat though, but would be different and country.

I went to a wedding once and the bridesmaids were in different colour dresses and they all carried a beautiful clutch purse that matched their dress and the bride walked down the isle with a clutch purse that was so pretty and it had the same bow on the front of the purse that was one the edge of her sleeves.  It just looked so pretty and feminine and something that ladies normally carry anyway.  It was really a nice look and some of their photos were black and white except for the colour of their purses.  It looked very normal actually but really pretty.

Good luck

I had a staff (or walking stick) for mine, my bridesmaids had one each also.  If you've seen Lord of the Rings, think Gandalf's staff...

Would sort of fit with the whole outback stockman theme as much as medieval...

I have some closeup pics of just the sticks but they are at home.  I can put up tomorrow if interested.  Had them hand carved but you needn't go to that extreme if you're having a bushy type theme.

My daughter did not want a bouquet either.  She had a single red rose in a copper wire cage.  Her dress was shoe string straps and she wore a lovely lacy knit shawl with it.  Her hair was done up with tiny rosebuds buds scattered through.  No veil or hat was needed.  Was a beach wedding.

My sister carried a white bible with a small posie of three flowers on it.  Others have carried small cluth purses.

what about a small hand fan? Even September can be quite hot out at Longreach.

Yes we have thought of that, especially for Longreach, cos as you say it gets hot out that way, . She knows because they live at Augathella.

Congratulations to your daughter! Having just been thru it myself I know how she feels. I was disgusted on the price of floral bouquets especially as they die the following day. Although I ended up buying a couple of bunches of roses the day before and piecing it together myself (only because I couldn't think of an alternative) I much prefered the bouquets I put together for my bridesmaids - fake hydranges I bought from Spotlight and Hot Dollar. Total cost was about $25 for the two bouquets and they were so much easier to handle and are still 'alive'!!

Not sure if she's at all into this, but a beautiful Rosary draped around her wrist? I have made these for Brides in the past...

Texchloe, I didn't carry anything, if that's a help.  I went bare-handed.
