Best thread for restringnh/knotting pearls
OK all you jewellery making experts.

I need to know the best thread to purchase to restring pearls and other semi-precious beads (e.g. turquoise, lapis lazuli etc) with.

Must be a thread that I can knot between each bead/pearl so no metal threads or elastic thread.

I know pearls are usually strung on silk thread but they appear to come in different thicknesses which is just confusing me.  I need guidance before I buy the wrong thing.

Thank you in advance for your help and guidance.

I use Griffin beading silk which comes in different sizes and different colours.

You need to measure the size of the pearl hole to work out which size thread you need, eg. Size 1 = 0.35mm thickness.

I have a variety of sizes and colours but I haven't got around to listing them yet.  Let me know if you are interested and I will see if I have what you need and list it for you.  There is 2 metres per pack.

Do you have a knotting awl or pliers?
