Becareful where you use your credit cards
Several people I know including myself have had their credit cards hacked!

Fortunately my bank (ANZ) were quick off the mark and put a block on my card last night & let me know this morning.

Unfortunately it is happening at various online purchase points so it is hard to know exactly who is at fault!!

In the meantime I for one will no longer be buying online with my c/c!!

stay safe

Hi Lois not sure if you know but you can buy prepaid CC which could come in handy if you dont want to use your proper CC.

Its scary now that you can go into a shop  and not have to sign under certain amounts, people can be hacked just walking along the street, not just online either..scary!

If you use your CC on a secure website it's unlikely to get hacked , quite possibly people get hacked when they click on links in emails and enter their details thinking it's from the Bank/CC company etc.

I've been trying to use mine this arvo but the receiving company's website is down , which is a bit of a worry come to think of it.

i always make sure the site i use has the security showing.
apparently paypal are having issues at the moment-
i am so glad that i am getting a new a/c number, this way i know its not likely to happen again.

While it's entirely possible to have your details stolen online, it's actually more common to have it stolen off line when using your CC in a shop. People pay big money to persons who work in places like service stations or shops for credit card details. They then sit on them for months before using them so when the card finally is used by someone else, the owner of the card will quite often go oooo must be from an online purchase because I've heard that's how it's done.

Hi! It can just as easily happen when you pop into a supermarket, for weekly shopping or few items. my credit society are very quick to cancel cards. We now have new ones with the chip in. (suppose to be better?)
