AT LAST, WE ARE OFF TO SYDNEY TO BE THERE FOR NEW GRANDCHILD
After a few false starts, 'Only' daughter is going into hospital tomorrow to have a  C- Section.

Specialist can't induce baby as head is not engaged.

She is a bit scared obviously, but she will be in very good hands.

It's hard to believe the day has finally come.
Cheers
Rose

hi everyone , just arrived home.
We have a new Grandson.
They called him Dean Raymond.
Raymond is a family name on his dads side of the family and Dean is a name they both agreed on.
They didn't want a name which is currently popular, and also a name that he could live with when he gets older.
Both are doing well. She is in North Shore Private hospital which I am pleased about as since she had  C- Section they will keep her there for at least 5  to 6 days.
Will get a photo up as soon as I can.
thanks everyone for all your wishes.
For some reason I couldn't access Quicksales on my laptop so couldn't respond earlier.
cheers
Rose.

dean in room after ceasar

Dean Raymond,
Born Friday 9/12/2011 at 8.20pm
Weight 3950 grams * 56cm long.
North Shore Private Hospital Sydney.
This photo was taken when he was brought back to his mums room. one of the first photos of him taken.
His mother was still in surgery being stitched up etc  and we were not game to touch him until she was returned to her room.
Between her MIL and myself we must have taken 50 photos of him from different angles.
I was so surprised when he opened his eyes and looked at me just before I took this one.
cheers
Rose

Thank you, we think he is cute too, unfortunately they can't come for Christmas as originally planned, and we are having overseas family arriving next Sunday so we won't get to see him again till January .
We will see a big change in him.
Have a lovely Christmas

Thanks jinni, at least with the magic of the Internet we will be getting lots of photos of him.

We will also have our other 3 grandchildren here at Christmas and the youngest Sullivan, is only 3 months old. Relatives from Canada arive tomorrow.

We are off to a wedding today. Something very different. this couple have known each other for over 30 years but were just extremely good friends. He now has terminal cancer and only has a few months to live. Col was the local Vet so is well known and respected. He is just 60 years old and was the most vibrant person one could meet and and very nice and good looking as well.

It is such a shame as he also has contributed so much to the community.

The ceremony is at 10am and they are having an open house. Expecting over 400 people to attend. Fortunately it looks like a gorgeous day here as the event is open air at his property a few klm from town.
cheers

 Aww so cute - congratulations.

Wish I could have mine all over again - not looking good for grandkids either Eldest isn't interested in having a wife/girlfriend because he doesn't want to share his house lol, next one has a girlfriend but neither want kids, which might be a good idea since both have that many little defects :), daughter says she's not going through that and having to put up with a screaming baby - but she's only 12 so might still be hope there.

Yes Jinni - it is strange, all mine were kept with me until I went back to my room - or at least in the nursery and they were all in humidity cribs because c-section babies can't regulate their body temperature straight away, second was in longer because he had wet lungs and they tried to cook my daughter - had the temp up too high lol

Enjoy your new little man.

Yes I found it strange that the baby was brought back to the room so soon, but everything is so different these days.

Even looking at him it was hard to believe that he had just not long been born.

Maybe the fact that the dad is a Paramedic had something to do with allowing him to bring Dean back to the room, I don't know, but Kim had one of the top specialists in Sydney so I guess he knew what he was doing.

After my first c-section I didn't even see Kim  till the next day. I was completely out to it so didn't even see her when she was born.  Come to think of it though they gave her to my husband whand he carried her to the nursery.
The second one was an epidural so at least I saw him straight away.
cheers
 to all
Rose
