Anyone seen / have the new Casio Exilim with GPS?

Oh the wonders of the internet!!  Without it's help, I would not now have my new camera.

This morning I came to the realisation that my camera had laid down and died.  Took it to Michael's in the Melbourne CBD, who confirmed my suspicions, quoted +/- $300 to fix it....... better buy a new one!

I was not aware that Casio is again available in Australia - after a long absence.  I wanted another Casio Exilim.  Five years ago I paid more than $500.  Michael's have that excellent camera, much better than my old one, for only a couple of hundred.

But while I was there, I saw a brochure with the GPS hybrid camera.   It looked interesting, and I asked all the questions a non-technical person would ask..... including the price.  $599.

Discussed it with son at lunch time.  Two hours later he told me the cheapest he had found was $449 online.  Then went on to say that if I get it before he goes overseas on Sat, he can get the GST back for me.

After class today, I checked out some camera stores.   Most do not yet have this recently released model.  But one I walked into did have it.   I asked for the price, and of course, got the usual, "what is the best price you have so far?"  Said I would tell him after he gave me his price.   But it was not yet in their catalogue, and when he finally got it, said $399.

Needless to say, without hesitation, I told him I'll have it.  Six hours after learning that my old camera was not worth fixing, I have my new Casio Exilim H20G.

Would really like to hear if anyone has heard any comments about it, or has any opinion on its technology.

Hi Lifey, I jus Googled & saw the camera you have. Very smart! I like the way it can do a 180 degree panorama. Plus being able to see exactly where & when you took photos will be good in years to come when you look at them. How many times do you look at old photos & forget where they were taken. I hope you have fun with your new toy

Looks nice but I am saving my pennies for an SLR ... have wanted one since I was a little girl.

Sam, that was my main motivation.   In 2009 I took hundreds of photos along the Alaska and Dalton Highways, but have great difficulty pinpointing where I was.  Most I can give the general location, but I miss that specific information.  As much as one intends to, one never gets around to writing it all down.
