Hi, our family all shoot Fita target archery each weekend. Being as I haven't seen many threads about archery here, I was wondering if anyone else here on Oztion does our type of archery??

Hi Woody,

My other half is on the central coast right now at an ABA two day meet.  He does the walk around the course shooting at cardboard animals type archery (would NEVER shoot at a live animal and gets very vocal at people who do).  What is Fita, is it the round target type.

Cheers
Jen

Fita is Federation International Target Archery...in short- what they do at the Olympics. With this type of archery we don't use animal cutouts. Different ppl use diff bows but all vary between compound (us!) or recurve though sometimes we rarely come across a traditional longbow shooter (hard buggers to shoot) usually at a state shoot.

Earth you should be able to find out someone doing a type of archery close to you either in the ph book or simply on the net. We're in Nthrn NSW & belong to South Queensland Archery Society. Alot of us are happy to welcome & help new ppl interested in taking up archery. We even have the local high schoolers doing sport with us. Most clubs have spare bows & gear for new ppl to have a try out with. :)
