oh wow he's growing up as gorgeous now as he was a bub. 
I remember crying when I saw those 1st photos you posted back then, what a journey and so inspiring.

 Thanks for the birthday wishes Ashton has opened his pressys and now busy playing with the 4x4 ute that does tricks...have the big chuggington set to put together later already did the small work one :) I took lots of pics will upload them later on.

I have not closely followed the threads on Ashton but think of him offen

Having had a part in that Pooh Bear Quilt, & also having my youngest ( who is now 40yo & became a father last yr ) spent much of his childhood in hostipal with urology issues. It gives me much joy to see Ashton now.

Thanks for the pics glad Ashton liked his tees. Wasn't much difference between the 2 and 3 so I went for the 3. They might even fit him next year!

 Today we went to MT G Ashton had is blood test and saw the Pead...he was very happy with the few blood results that had been listed while we were there...:)

Hubby had to fast for the glucose tolerance test....and the other blood test which had 8 diff things on it they took nearly 80ml the first time...Ashton and I went shopping while hubby stayed there for 2hrs until he had another blood test...

Tissue typing came back as matching Hubby is O blood type so that was right up there with matching.....
Hubby has had numerous other blood tests still waiting results of them....& 7th Sept Hubby has to have chest xray, ECG, renal ultrasound, differential GRF Scan all on the same day at a different hospital to Ashton..
After these results if Hubby is excepted as a donor he will have to have a CT Renal scan and then we all have to have an education session and after that Assesment for hubby n Ashton begins...
Hubby goes to the GP on thursday for another check up...
Its a long process :-)

Wow what a long process to go through but I suppose all these tests are necessary.
Can you believe Spring is just around the corner? Here's hoping for some warmer weather I think we could all do with it.

 Hmm so tired this morning...12 alarms through the night

Hubby went to the dr yesterday he got his blood pressure done etc now has dr letter to give to the transplant team...

Ashton was given a cars pop up tent for a birthday pressy yesterday...he loves it...Deb knew loved cars stuff

windy trip to the city this morning...had to detour at kiki cause of an accident involving a truck saw it on the back of two semis as we went through tailem bend hmm a write off for sure..Ashton had blood test done he was still for a change over in 2 minutes spent more time at dialysis unit talking :)

Tomorrow Hubby is at RAH for his tests while Im at WCH with Ashton..J & B are going to the show with Auntie Bonnie they are going to bring show bags back for chubba :)

 Tired tonight...what a day Ashtons results are fine so thats good..Hubby endured all his tests but was tired of waiting all day we walked n walked n went up n down sooo many lifts ugh dont want to see one for awhile...Jade and Braydan had an awesome time at the show

Took chubba to dentist for check up $90 :0 looking at surgery to put caps on back molars as they haven't formed like they should so to protect them for a few yrs until they fall out the caps have to go on...dentist said chubba has great teeth no decay just a few teeth that should be already up are still under gums which is to be expected so think early oct is possible if they can get theatre organised.....We had a good drive home

That is  good news knowing that Ashton has good teeth.  Just hope his second lot are as good as his first ones.  Up and down in lifts all day the little ones seem to like it but I hate even having to use them.  It has been raining here the last couple of days and it is quite cold here this morning.  Sun is out and not raining now so hopefully it might be gone for a while.

Morning Bundy,  Hope everything went all right with Ashtons dental appointment.  I have been so busy with my voluntary job I have not been in here for nearly 2 weeks.  Are the Kids on school holidays down there??.

 ok so we had dr appts Hubby has passed all tests now and surgeons are going to set a date for the transplant to go ahead they think before xmas at this stage.
Ashtons bloods are great no changes to anything although he did have to have another lots of bloods on wednesday afternoon to check coags and antibodies etc

Gee Bundy that is great news.  My prayers are with you all.  Wont this be a great Christmas present to have all this finished.  Once the operation is all done and everything is healed will Ashton be able to stop the dialisis permanently.

 Just an update to let ya all know we now have a date for transplant Jan 16th 2012 so we can now organise xmas pressys etc all still going ok with dialysis had a few machine malfunctions but got them sorted..

 Update just letting you know all is well here dialysis is going well
Ashton is his usual happy full on self...he did have a fall in the bathroom and had a black eye and cheek or a bit but he is ok now :)
Still have a week of school to go kids finish on 22nd dec 
Have to finish buying xmas pressys this week so not motivated..

 We had a good xmas day drove 2 1/2 hrs up to MIL place stayed the day it was hot kids had water fights so they where happy arrived back in the city at 10 pm

Ashton rides his new bike like a pro lol have to buy a new helmet though cause his has got lost. he got 2 kids laptops and lost of other stuff ....

Miss j got an Ipod touch she was happy and other stuff

Braydan got his remote helicopter he was happy and a new school backpack and other stuff

all in all they where happy with what they got even the $ they earnt by working on the farm

Had machine failure last night so had to set up again and it was all ok

Transplant date 16th of Jan is coming up fast ...one lot of bloods to do on the 3rd jan  and then consent forms and talk to the surgeon on 10th jan and and a walk though ICU and rooms where they both will be after surgery.

Bring on sunday afternoon Hubby goes to one ward Ashton to another...so looks like im staying in with Ashton sunday night :) for the Operation monday morning hubby is being woken up at 6am and given meds and he has to stay in bed until they take him to theatre.

After so long it is so close now!  I'm sure the other watchers are like me &  excited but nervous for your family, so I can only imagine what you all must be going through.
Hope you have plenty of family support to be there with you, Luckily Ashtons  to young to probably remember all of this later,

Morning Bundy and all Watchers.  Yes Sandy it is like sitting in the hospital waiting room but just a bit different.  I am presuming it will still be a few more days till we hear anything but I believe NO news is good news.  Like many other watchers I have watched little Ashton's story since the very first post and it will be so wonderful to see this great Family with a very healthy little boy when this is all over.

ok Im a slacker here are updates

Monday...Hubby in icu all ok waiting on ash to come to icu

Hi all just an update both are in Icu Hubby doing well Ashton not so well in the pain department he has drs on the go cause the pain drugs are only lasting 5 minutes he may have to go back in surgery and see whats causing it will know more tomorrow fingers crossed i tell you ....visitors will be allowed once they go back to the wards I will keep you up dated as I can :)
Ok back from hospital Ashton not needing surgery thank god but they r still dealing with the pain meds kidney wise its working great Dr says ashton peeing like a tap lol
Darryl has been moved to the ward but now might need to have blood transfusion...will know more later on he is in heaps of pain but i sposed thats expected.... Thanx everyone for your text messages n comments much app ♥♥♥



spoke to hubby this morning he said they didnt do a transfusion but he did have another blood nose at 3 am hes waiting to be able to go see ashton this morning when I get there :)

Morning Bundy,  I am so glad your hubby is out of hospital and things are going well for him.  They did not keep him in hospital very long.   Hope Ashton comes out of ICU today and it is wonderful that the transplant is working very well.  Hopefull his pain level should start to get better soom.  He is such a brave little boy.

That's great news Tania and hubby discharged already wow he recovered very quickly! Hope they get Ashton's pain meds sorted out and to hear he is peeing so much is a very good sign. Hugs all round yay!!

 Great news about hubby and that Chubba's kidney is working so well, poor little thing being in so much pain though, but I suppose it is to be expected and kids always bounce back quickly.

You must be exhuasted Tania ,how draining this has all been for you!  Would be hard having both in separate hospitals. Bundy I  just shake my head in awe of  the journey you have had, since you first brought your little bubba home from hospital and to now with this  amazing, amazing event (can't think of the right words).
I have a son who works in out patience at the RCH and I hear so many stories full of  inspirations, omg you and your husband are just  heroes,  I guess you can say that you only do what any parent would but by golly you seem carry it all so well.

Sending so much love and hopes and big hugs to you Ashton and his amazing Dad.

 have had bloods done every morning since discharge much to Ashtons annoyance

booked ashtons surgery for next week the 16th he staying over night Hmm has to have the stint in bladder removed

so thats about it atm

 Ok Ashton had stent removed on thursday afternoon and by friday afternoon he was back in hospital for emergency surgery had to have stent put back in and bladder drainage tube put in he still has it now nad has been discharged again this afternoon.

 Good news Ashton had the stent removed on monday bloods monday and wednesday and friday allgood so we drove home to the farm for the weekend...been raining whole time but Ashton is doing ok loves having his room to himself now my lounge room is now toy free :)

 All going ok we came home to the farm for easter hope to go to once a week bloods soon....Hubby is going ok back to work as usuall...
Last week end Ashton and I and the Inlaws went on a dolphin cruise it was good.

It is good to hear that Ashton is doing well.  Will he always have to take medication?.

 Yes anti rejection drugs are for life they are taken every 12 hrs without fail Ashton doesnt seem to mind atm cause they go in his button tube but he will have to swap to tablets eventually...
Going back to the city in a few hrs has have blood tests on tuesday morning .

Tania,Ashton looks great  so does Hubby!. It's great to see you are all on the road to a reasonably "normal" life. You must feel a very heavy load has been lifted from you.Luckily Ashton is to young to remember all he & the family have been through. He will look back on your photos,videos etc in awe! Medical science will maybe even one day do away with his medication altogether,lets hope so.  All the very best,love Sandy

Morning Bundy,  Thank you for posting the photos.  Ashton looks all grown up now with his short hair. That is a nice photo of Ashton with his Dad.  I really don't know how you do all you have done over the years and finding the time to keep this thread going and keeping all your Quicksales friends informed with Ashtons progress.  My love to you all.

 Good news dr said see us next tuesday woot woot so we going home soon...bloods were great :)

 We have been home since tuesday night go back to the city on monday for tuesday bloods n dr appt....Ashton loving the freedom of playing outside in sandpit n cubby etc
