Advice needed please
Hello,
I am wanting to find out what your thoughts are on the Nintendo DSi and the DSi XL,
my dear mum who is in her late 70's, loves playing hand held games,
she has had an old one that had tetra's or i think it was a block game and she enjoyed playing it for years but i cannot find any of the hand held games like you used to get, i think she got her one from one of those cheap stores,
Anyway with mothers day coming up i was wondering how a DSi would be for her,
i dont know a lot about these games , my granddaughters have them and i have played mario on them ,
so what i was wondering are there games available that would be suitable for my mum, games like the block game, tetras,
she is not into Mario or shooting games but loves playing Snake on her mobile phone,
I know the DSi XL is larger than the DSi,
just wondering what your thoughts are.
thank you in advance.
Sandra

Well my mums not quite as old as yours, but she bought a dsi I think and she loves the puzzles and memory games, she hardly puts the bloody thing down. I think the game your mum likes is Tetris, if you google that you'll probably find that you can get a game like that on the DS, she'll love it :o)

We had the handheld brick games. They were a godsend when we drove from Adel-Qld and back again. Kept us all amused!
I think I still have them!
Son is addicted to scrabble on his iphone...I love tetris!

Your mum is really up with it all! Hope I am like that at her age!
I would like an ipod touch. Just so I can play more games too lol
that might be a good idea for her too? All sorts of games can be downloaded apparently.
Cheers, Julie

THanks Julie, that brick game is the one mum had and it has stopped working and i cannot seem to find them anywhere these days.
I got Mum onto mobile phones about 3 years ago, she hasnt got a computer as i cannot seem to get her into one of those ,
Mum has quite bad rheumatoid arthritis and her hands are quite deformed so she cannot manage the touch phones, they are a bit too sensitive for her, i have a touch phone and have got her to try and use it but it is a bit on the difficult side for her, so she just has  a push button phone and she can manage that really well.
The more i look into the DSi i think she will love it , especially with the little stylus stick that comes with it.
Plus i have found games like tetris and others that i know she likes to play.
I have a mother in law that is really up with modern tec and she is a bit older than my mum, and she is into computers, i was actually at my mother in laws place today as she is having an issue with her desktop that i am trying to help with,
also my mother in law is going on an overseas trip for 6 weeks in July, she is heading to England, she amazes me as has travelled to places all over the world as well as Australia.
While i myself also suffer from Rheumatoid i am like my mother and dont let it stop me and am so proud to have such great mums in my life, i adore them both.

PMSL  Gamesphere - I was just going to say that I loved playing Picross on the old style game boy - but then I saw your user ID and realised you would know that - seeing as I'm your mum hehehe
