a/conditioner....is this a fault?
I have a Daikin split system air conditioner.  Works good and is very cost effective to use.

The only thing is, in the past few weeks there hasn't been any water coming from the outlet outside.     If there are any air/c specialists here - can you tell me if it is a fault?

Thank you
Ann

Hi limegreen,
Usually split systems only drip water from the condensation from the inside coil when it is humid...if it has been hot and dry in WA there shouldn't be a problem. You could check the drain pipe by poking  a rod or smaller hose up the pipe incase there is a blockage. Hope this helps.
cheers, Keith.

I'd check the outlet pipe with a wire hanger.  If a mud wasp has made a home up in there you will find the water dripping back into your house through the unit itself.
And does that make a mess.  Ours got blocked up and dripped down onto the top of the curtain which was covered with a felt like material to black out the window for when hubs did night shift.  Didn't notice the wet mark but then we got the smell from the carpets which had soaked up the water.  Had to strip them back dry out the boards then shampoo and clean the carpet. and dry it out.

Thanks Marian.

I just didn't see it.   I'm moving house on Monday and I'm on the last of my packing.....so stressed out.    I went to bed at 9pm last night and just didn't want to get out of bed at 8am this morning!!   11 hours sleep!   can't believe it as I only usually get about 3 or 4.

Thanks again
Ann
